Thanks!....me too!....I cant say enough about these wheels!...also weighed them before mounting the tires...just under 22lbs...not bad if you ask me....much lighter than my SSR GT3's...which muscled in at a hefty 26+lbs....ugh...

In another note, especially those of you are so called, "purists" and like the bone stock look... Please, before you start saying negative things about someone else's car, most of you done nothing to your exterior.... Also realize that it takes very little work nor cost to go back to stock form and its easy to buy another stocked bodied car... Sure, some exterior pieces and looks you might not like, but give some credit to those who try to be different and those who put effort into their cars. I see so many negative BS on this thread and some have never really done anything to their car... By what I've seen of TheCrazyAZN's car, I'm sure he could easily go buy another STOCK bodied FD.. Same goes with me, I've had people tell me I ruined the factory styling of the FD and I'm like, "Well, that's why I have another FD". And contrary to what some of you think, I also respect all stock cars. But not worn out all stock car or poorly put together with stock exterior... I mean, how many people have seen clean, all stock, in and out FDs?? I've seen maybe 4-5 over past 5 years going to different rotary events all over USA.. If you have that kind of cars, I think you could call yourselves a purist. But otherwise, I think its better to keep your mouth shut and be bit more positive vs. negative... because, we all could pick on each other for what we do with our cars... either stock or modified.
Really?!? you're going to tell me you would drive that car around? their is nothing negative about it.. it is just he plain truth. it looks horrible!

dont take this the wrong way but this is something that i've been wondering for a while.. i love your ride and all and i think is very unique but why in the hell do you still have the tan carpet that doesn't go with anything in your interior? when i got the modified magazine i was so happy to see a rx7 on the front cover but when i read the article and i saw the nice seats and the miss match interior i was like " WTF??!?! "

just wondering...

Changing your carpet is a pain? You have to remove fragile and old interior pieces to do so. Not something I would do. Could you imagine doing all that work only to find out you have a new rattling sound in your car due to a broken interior piece? UGH that would kill me, actually it did kill me. This is what happened when I got my FD back from the bodyshop. haaaaaa.

changing the carpet is not a pain in the ***.. yes, it takes time and if you're careful parts will not get dmg. but that's not the point that i was trying to get across..

It's your car and do whatever you please with it.. but some times ppl do ruin the car with crazy body kits and custom paint jobs and other crazy ****.

LOL when did this Thread all of a sudden become a discussion thread about "That **** sucks"

The last 3 or so pages have been nothing but "hating on your Neighbors", can we please move on.

and now back to our regularly scheduled PHOTO THREAD...

I may have posted these both before but I don't care. I haven't driven either one of them in about a year and I miss them terribly...

The stock one is for sale btw https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generation-rx-7-1993-2002-vehicles-107/very-reluctant-post-1993-cym-49k-miles-100%25-bone-stock-mint-889168/

I think you are missing the point... Point is, give some credit to the guy who wants to be unique and spent time and money modifying their car. I mean, I'm sure you of all people on this forum should understand this more than others. There are people out there that dislike your choice of wheels, color, molding in fender flares, etc.. I'm not saying that's me as I understand personally how much time, money, and debating which kit to get..., but there are people out there just don't understand what it takes. Just as you would defend yourself by either saying, "Its my car and I don't care what you think!". I'm just saying maybe just leave it and give some credit to the guy who did something to the car.

I remember when I first bought my 99 front on my FD,.. That was way back when (2001) and there were so many people telling me, "I hate that front plate holder"... "It ruins the line of the FD"... blah blah blah. Now, I see FAR more plated 99 bumper vs. plateless. Some, went from plateless to OEM 99 bumper because of either fitment or they think something is missing and looked weird. Point again is, people's choices and ideas change.. I'm sure stuff I've commented on the past about body kits have bit me in the ***.. but I could say that I've learned my lesson and now and I'm bit more cautious and more understanding of what we do to this car...

Not taking it the wrong way.. I'll be honest with you.. I'm lazy
I had 2 FD's that I've bought with black interior that I thought about taking the carpet off and put the tan one in and sell it. But amount of time doing two carpet swap didn't get me motivated enough to do so and sold the car as they were... Again, maybe its also because I'm LAZY!! Who knows.

But about 4 months ago, friend was parting his FD out after flipping the car. His carpet was in excellent condition and I've decided to help him pull it and get the carpet. To get the carpet out in one piece, I could tell you that it was not a simple as saying, "I have a full day so lets just pull everything out". It literally took pulling everything out of the car to get the carpet in one piece.

Anyhow, its now in the car and I'm going through another transformation on the car.

Same logic applies to pretty much everything... like asking someone flipping burgers, "why didn't you become a doctor instead of flipping burgers at McDonalds? It only takes time?".
It only takes 4 years of undergrad, putting your 'time' in to get A's, 4 years of Med schoold, 3-4 years of residency, 2+ years of fellowship.... At the end its all just time

And same with putting 20B in.... I had 2 engines for like 5 years and I now just got one built and now waiting on mounting kits to come in.. which I been waiting for over 6 months... But all are excuses.... To be honest, I just have other priorities and I'm lazy

The CYMs are so awesome. Look at the gaps on the stock one. Perfect. Have you ever done ANY work on it Charlie?

the one with the wheels and suspension has been apart more than it's been together. that was the test car for both the sakebomb garage oil cooler kit as well as the v-mount we designed... it is currently in 1000 pieces again.

the stock one has never been touched. i bought it a couple years ago and the only problem with it was a busted coupler at the top of the y-pipe, i dont even think the old man i bought it from had any idea he wasn't making any boost pressure. as soon as i changed it, car worked perfectly, runs great.

I wish I had the cash to have 2 FD's. 1 to play around with, and the other to remain stock.
I'm in the wrong business.
