I disagree.

How will having the bov after the IC make it more efficient??
I have always tried to locate bovs before the cooler whenever possible, this will help intercooler efficiency.

The only thing I have noticed about this statement; is the instructions for "most" BOV say to put it within 12 inches of the throttle if my memory serves me right. I know nothing about the problems with putting on cold or hot side, but that's what the instructions said on the one I installed recently.

There are a lot of theories behind the BOV location. Some believe its best to release the air as close to the throttle as possible (as that's where it stops once the throttle plates close). Others believe its best to release the air close to the turbos (so you don't have to recharge the entire IC piping with air again once you restart building boost).

I've never seen any hard data to support one is better than the other as far as street cars go. However, most turbo charged race cars don't use BOV's at all.

The purpose behind a blow-off is longevity of the engine. As Mahjik states, race cars do not have blow-off valves, as continually holding pressure means better response. but this is detrimental to the life of an engine. So when I state efficient, I mean life of your engine. That's the point of putting one in, right ?

Well, it's more longevity of the turbos than the engine. The engine doesn't really care whether the excess charge air is released or not. It's to help save the turbos from air being pushed back once the throttle plates are closed. However, even the longevity argument is a little suspect with the turbos as many Aussie guys have done away with their BOV's and have not had any real issues. To be honest, I'm not sure our stock turbos last long enough for a BOV to make a difference.

I apologize. Here's one i'll throw in for taking up your time.

Mahjik, sorry man, I sounded real stupid stating engine, instead of turbo. Thanks for correcting me.

Hey Dille,

Is that the Vertex bodykit? Looks very nice!

Also, what are your wheel sizes?
And do you have any clearance issues with the front bumper with speed bumps, kerbs ect??

Thanks,
George.

Thanks, guys

Wheels are: 18x9, think ET is 25 or something. Need spacers for next season.

The bodykit is Final Konexxion and i havent had so much problems with speed bumbs yet. Just need to be carefull But today i ran into some kurbs at the raceway so I need to re-glasfiber one side-skirt and some parts of the front.
