Cool oohhhh!!! WHAT MODS TO GO FOR FIRST????

OK, so from what I've learned it's important to get temps down on an FD and keep the turbo at a reasonable level (8 to 10). I've got PF intercooler, PF SS exhaust, PF cold air induction and turbo gauge. So what next?? If a more substantial radiator is there any difference between the fluidyne and the mazda competition alum radiator besides the $140 more for the comp?? And then what after that to increase performance and maintain engine life???

what's the best ECU to go for???

I see Pettit. PFS, & M2 out there.... Any suggestions...especially since my current mods are PFS...any reason to just stick with that???

And what is a friggin' AST....

Thanks,

Rapidly gettin' smarter!

If you end up getting a new ECU, think about a couple of other things, a downpipe and a boost controller. You need a controller to keep boost in check when it starts to get funky from all your mods...also to raise it when you have adequate fuel compensation from the ECU. The downpipe will help the engine run cooler and breathe easier. It will also help the turbos spool faster.

I really don't know what to tell you about the radiator, but a lot of the guys on this board swear by the Fluidyne.

A lot of people like the Apexi Power FC, it seems to be a popular choice and it plugs straight into the existing ECU harness. It's also easy to tune with the optional Commander unit.

The AST is the Air Separator Tank. It gets the air bubbles out of the coolant. The stock one is plastic and has a reputation for busting open and dumping coolant everywhere. (not good.) The way to fix this is to buy an aluminum replacement tank, or there is a mod that you can do to completely eliminate it.

Why do people buy the American tuner ECUs? You do realize they are all a couple years behind the Japanese tuners, right? OK, then.
