Leather seat restoration?? Any suggestions....

Leather seat restoration?? Any suggestions....

The left side of my driver's seat.....which you rub against as you plop into the car has worn off so that it is no longer black like the rest of the seat..........any suggestions on how to restore this??? any leather dies that work without rubbing off on your clothing??

I just covered mine for the time being. I did find a totalled Supra with 6way powered seats. Has anyone tried this conversion in a 1st gen?

There are plenty of shops that can repair worn leather on seats. My father just had it done on his Vette seats, and I'll be taking my FD there probably in a month.

They are usually fairly cheap.

I'm sure if you call a good body shop, they can recommend one.

My problem is cosmetic and fairly minor.....just having the dye worn away from one part of the seat.......the rest of the seat is great.........just looking for possible suggestions on how to redye this area........anybody done it before???

I think there is a spray paint that is designed for leather seats. I've heard that the factory seats color is sprayed on anyways, not sure if they also dye it... I don't know if you would have to do the whole seat to match color. Maybe you can stop by an upholstry shop to get some good advice.

They make great stuff. Rolls-Royce and Lotus guys use them.
I use their Rejuvenator Oil and it's the best I've found. They also sell dyes.

they have an article about leather car seats.
also some good articles about cleaning/washing/waxing your car, etc./...

Thanks for the tips guys............i'll check out those sites.........

just got back from a ride in my 93 FD........It just keeps reminding why i love this car so much.......what a riot to drive.........
