I need some advice 3rd gen,300zTT or 2nd gen TII

I need some help here! I have a 91 na. I love rx7's alot and I want to keep with them, but I am trying to find a tII that is in good shape and in michigan they are hard to come by. So I have been looking online and cant find $hit! There are a few but not anything great. I know the 89-91's are faster than the 86-88 but the 88TII is easy to find around here for some reason. So I was wondering if it is worth it to get an 88 or if I should buy a 3rd gen or a 91-96 300zx TT? Please help me out! My good friend has a 95 r2 that was rebuilt by pettit and I want to run with him.
Thanks Guys!!

how much money do you have to spend? I owned a 90 300ZX twin turbo and I can tell you that if you want to go fast in the 1/4 you don't want a 300zx. I sold mine and got my 93 RX-7 and I'm alot happier with it

Get a 3rd gen. I used to think the Z's were awesome, but now I think they really show their age, while people still ask if my 3G is new.

FD if you want the best sports car of the 3.
TII if you want the most economical of the 3.
300ZXTT if you want the most comfy of the 3.

Thanks guys!!! I have had a hell of a time making my decesion. I have heard that the 300z's are very hard to work on but, I still wasnt sure as to what I was going to do. But now it seems to be pretty clear that the 300z is out of the picture. Also what model 3rd should I get? My buddie has an R2 and it has basic mods, if I get a touring how much would i have to spend to stay with him because I have heard that the tourings arent near as fast as an R1 OR R2.

All the models of 3rd gen Rx7s are about the same speed. The only performance differences between the R1/R2 and the other models is an extra oil cooler and the R1/R2 suspension is a little stiffer.
