Fuel Pump Manual Error?

If any one has a Shop Manual other then Mozda, please look this up for me. In my Mazda manual on pg. 100, they say that "if there is continuity between fuel pump connector A and B, replace the Pump". On the following page 101, they say that " if there is no continuity replace the Pump". I checked my Fuel Pump for maximuum pressure. The manual calls for 71-107psi, my pump will shoot to about 70psi and then the pressure will start to drop down slowly. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't it supposed to hold the same pressure?
Thanks for the help.

There is only the Mazda manaul for the FDs.

Where are you checking for FP? From the pump directly to a gauge or are you simply tapping into the fuel system?

You WILL Get higher fuel pressures if only connecting it to the pump, but it should hold. If you have it tapped into the fuel system, turning the pump on will shoot it up past 50, but when you disconnect the pump, it should hold at around 30-40psi, then start to slowly bleed down because of the FPR. The fuel begins to slowly go back to the tank via the return line.
