Does coolant out of exhaust smell the same?

Heres the problem. My car starts fine, runs fine and all, but on cold days or night, when the main cat starts to warm up, some white smoke starts pouring out. No big puff of white smoke or anything, but the white smoke looks the same as any other car's on a cold night. I tried smelling for coolant, but it just smells like the catalyctic converter. On the other hand, I know I have a tiny leak somewhere in my engine bay, sinnce I'm losing a small amount coolant and can smell it when I pop the hood. My question is, does the coolant leak in the engine bay smell the same as a coolant leak that has gone through combustion cycle and through main precat and main cat? Thanks.

O.k. than I don't think I'm leaking coolant into the chambers. I smell coolant in the engine bay, but the smoke coming out of the tailpipe smells like a bad cat. or a cat. warming up. I probably have a bad radiator cap.
