clearcoat?

Does anyone know if the 93 RX-7's have clearcoat? My car is Vintage Red and when I rub on the paint, I can see red on my rag.

I heard somewhere that the clearcoat on the vintage red, was special compared to most other paints. The clearcoat itself has sometype of red color mixed in with it to give it a three dimensional look.

I thought just the metallic paints on FD's had a clearcoat (montego blue and silverstone).

VR doesn't have clear coat, unless someone later repainted the car and clear coated it. If the clearcoat is red, it's not *clear* coat.

Unhappy Clear Coat

The 93 Base model didn't have clear coat, so the red just keeps fading, especially in places like Florida.

I repainted Vintage Red with Clearcoat and it looks FABULOUS!

Cost $1500
