Question Brown crap in coolant ?

When I checked my coolant it had some brown, slimey crap in it. I checked it a week ago and it also had that stuff in it. It never did this before. I replaced the radiator with a Mazdacomp one in March. Before that, it never had that crap in it. Do any of you guys know what it is? Any help or info would be appretiated. Thanks in advance.

what can I check or do to see if I have a bad coolant seal. The coolant level is always good. Its always in the same spot. Is it bad to keep running the car like this? Like I said it hasn't done this till I replaced the radiator.

don't wory

I had a similar problem and thought that my motor was gone. My thermostat went and it got pretty hot so I went throught the whole cooling system. New hoses, thermostat, real water temp gauge, fresh coolant and water weter. I started to notice the brown crap in my coolant and atomatically thought my seal had let go. I asked the same question and got a reply that the brown stuff was normal especially after the coolant hoses where changed. It was ruber dust from them. I think you are fine if your car isn't loosing coolant or overflowing.

Umm, hey man....it's great that you're trying to help the guy w/his problem, but there's no need to alarm him. Guessing his motor is bad isn't exactly helpful, especially when you seem to be taking a shot in the dark. I have the same **** on my coolant dipstick, and was told it is from the inside of the rad hoses. My motor (and Fluidyne rad) have ~2500 miles on them, and the last motor died due to coolant seal failure, so I sure as **** hope that's not the case .

Not trying to bust *****, just trying to make a point...
