I had to resize. stupid 100kb file size limit.

Pic 1. notice all the oil in the rear exhaust chamber? after i got the engine pulled i decided to make it go "woosh" and it spewed oil. i laughed.

Pic 2. Notice all the grease marks on the front of my car. i am a slob.

Pic 3. all that remains of my automatic crap on my car. will all be changed tomorrow night.

Pic 4. the damn little white and green thing i broke in the rats nest. son of a bitch. still don't know what i shoudl do to bypass it when my new engine comes in wednesday or whenever. (any suggestions?)

Pic 1. my engine with a bad seal. plus the hellish automatic tranny. i woudl sell it but i think my dad wants it. i pulled it by myself in about 6 hours. my dad did help a little but was more or less interested in stealing my A/C components since i have a 'vert i have no need for ac anymore.


Pic 2. a pic of the empty engine bay, notice the exhaust pipe on the left? oil up it's ***. crazy **** man. i got dripped on all over when i took the header off.

dammit i forget to put details in all the time. ok here is more on my dad's project.

that's an engine my dad got for 75 bucks. it's a stationary motor. used for runnign farm equipment back in like 1945. my dad got it running in about a day, allthough he had to buy a new carb for it. he got some carb from 1943 in it's original packaging, never opened and was pretty tight. it runs when my dad wants to annoy my mom. my dad plans on hooking up a generator to it but who knows when he'll get around to it.

Marlaman - #4 asks what the green/white thing in the vacuum line is, it's a check valve, you can get a replacement one for about 4 or 5 bucks at any auto parts store.. The question about replacing it: If you're going to keep your emmissions crap, i'd keep it. If not, ditch it with the rest of teh system.

all emmisions stuff has allready been removed---note the mazdatrix true dual exhaust.(with an assload of oil in the passenger side exhaust outlet) i've removed the airpump and gotten a dual belt alt. pulley, but in terms of removing ALL the emissions on an s5, i really don't know too much, removed everything on an s4 before but then i sold that one to my dad to "upgrade" to a newer model and a 'vert.

and if there is a writeup in the 2nd gen archive just let me know i'll peep there.

That's the removal instructions for an S5. I just did the rats nest removal on my S4, and it was pretty easy.. It costs about 40 dollars in odd parts (although 20 of that is 5 ft of Fuel Injected rated fuel line). Before I did this, I could only get my idle to 900, and it lopped, but now it's holding steady around 750 and my engine bay looks snappy, too

damn i have an assload of work before next weekend--150 round trip to the twin cities (visiting my brother) and i MUST have my car done by then. thank god i have 3 days off this week otherwise i'd never get it done!

yeah, mine isn't turbo either (wish it was).. I just ignored the stuff about the intercooler it worked out well, I wish I had done it when I was rebuilding my engine... oh well, so much easier to work on without that rat's nest. Good luck with it!

i have a ton of work ahead of me. 5 speed swap(including rearend), rats nest removal, putting everything back into my car, cleaning my engine bay, drinking beer, figuring out how to fix my wipers from constantly being on(no matter what the switch position), figuring out why the radio is constantly blowing fuses, other little random ***** too.

bump---yesterday i forgot to ask a question.

considering there is an asston of oil in the rear rotor housing is it safe to assume that the rear oil seal around the e-shaft went out? i know the engine was rebuilt when a previous owner had this car in texas (where it was originally sold), not too relavant but i thought i might mention it anyway.
