Yet another Radiator thread :D
Yet another Radiator thread :D
First off, whats the best rad, value and installation wise? There's a few threads about this issue, but none comparing the K2RD with the two main ones.
Secondly, are all of these radiators bolt-in? I don't want to change anything, and i certainly don't want to relocate my battery.
Thanks!

Should anything have to be relocated, please post. I don't mind some relocation. I'm looking into a performance radiator to install while my car is down for the winter..

For that matter, what rad is this ... http://www.radiatorexpress.com/produ...aia_id=1192373
That radiator is for the show in mind. I dont know if id trust that. I mean its an aluminum radiator but its a stock size replacement. Its just as good as a stock one. If you go with a new radiator then you should upgrade in size as well. -Gabe
i dont have any experience outside of the koyo/fluidyne debate. i hav ehte koyo and my friend has the fluidyne. mine was about 20 bucks cheaper and is about 30%bigger(a noticeable difference). so in my eyes the koyo is the way to go. so the real debate is do u want the koyo for under 400 to ur door or how much is the k2rd to ur door?
I chose the k2 because it HUGE compared to those other flashy units...
nopistons store has it for 424.95

I have a Griffin Rad on my TII and it works great, only took a little bit of modification to make it work! Its also cheap, $189.00 from summit. Its the GRI-1-25202-X, It says its for a chevy but it fits just fine! It is rather large though 24x19!
Im also running the Black magic 15in fan with it part# FLX-150 from summit as well!

Thats the only draw back from the griffin unit! I had to make some mounting brackets out of angled alum from home depot, oh and the most obvious difference is the upper rad hose is on the right side of the rad instead of on the left like the stock unit is, but again this is easily fixed
I have had this rad for about two years now and in louisiana it gets super hot and it stays humid as hell so I really haven't had any major problems with it!

Im using Koyo. Reason why I choose Koyo over fluidyne was that Fluidyne I believe uses a universal core size for all thier import applications (36mm is it?) as opposed to the 53mm core size on the Koyo. I picked up the Koyo for $335 which is approx. $100 less then the fluidyne and is almost 20mm thicker. I see about 187F max when really pushing it during days and 185 max at nights. I think with the K2RD you need to relocate your battery or as J-rat did, go to a slimmer battery.
You know the cosmetic aluminum radiator? (http://www.absoluteradiator.com/Prod....asp?idProd=18) Check this out:
This radiator has a 1-row oven brazed core (no epoxy) that is 1 1/4" (32mm) thick which is comparable to the OEM radiator core thickness. Although this radiator is not a CoolIng System Performance Up-Grade, this radiator is a 'Major' improvment 'Major' improvment in 'Appearance and Durability' over the OEM radiator. CSF's All-Aluminum, High Performance radiators have been extensively test-fit to insure easy installation without mounting modifications. CSF All-Aluminum Radiators are professionally built using advanced technology "Deep Drawn Tanks" that retain the original geometerical shape and aerodynamics of the radiator.
It's only 6mm smaller in core thickness than the fluidyne... made out of aluminum... and its like $200US cheaper.

For my V8 swap I used a VW Scirocco Radiator. I know you have a rotary, but hear me out. It mounted in the stock location without any cutting or fabricating. I did have to drill small holes for the mounting bolts, but it was cheap and looks right. I had plenty of room for an electric fan too. The thing is lite weight (aluminum and plastic)compared to the stock RX7 beast. Go find one in a salvage yard and test fit it. Mine was given to me by a guy that uses one in his big block Falcon drag car, so they cool just about anything.

And I love my Koyo, it fits my modest application perfectly.
