Yet ANother P/S Question
Ok, did a search, and found that I do not have to get a manual rack if I want to remove my P/S. So all I would have to do is get a piece of P/S hose, and connect the 2 hoses. Is this all I have to do?
I'm on the same track. My origonal pump wore out. The replacement pump looses pressure at higher revs (too speed sensitive) which sucks for autocross. The threads I've read so far just say install a fluid bypass loop..

I just disconnected the metal hoses, "Cut them in half" and pulled the pump out, gave the wheel a few turns to pump out the fluid, and capped them off, The only thing is now there is an alarm going off, What the hell, How do you stop this???

I hope you have tried out driving with no PS. It is a big change. I tried the no PS thing for about 2 weeks and decided it was not for me. So I decided to swap in a manual rack. The manual rack is a good bit easier to turn at slow speeds and feels tight at higher speeds. The best of both worlds. Just throwing in my 2 cents.

Im sure there is some fluid in there for lubrication, and i just read that the alarm will quit when you unplug the ps control unit. As for a manual rack, i have driven in cars with them, and a powersteering rack with no power is far greater to me, This is how manual steering should have been.
So, all I have to do is remove the hoses from the pump, remove the pump, and connect the lines together w/ some hose? And where is the p/s control unit? I can't find fit in Hayne's!!
