Yet another car won't start thread
I'm at a big crysis. First off thursday night I jump started the 87 t2 to get it into the garage to finish working on it, and it started fine. Although because of my coolant leak the coolant level buzzer went on and stayed on until I got into the garage quickly. I installed an air pump and cat on the car to pass air care. I also had a lower rad hose leak so I fixed that, yet still dripping a little anyways. Today I go to start the car to get it to emissions and no go. So I go to jump start it but as soon as I turn the ignition the a/c fan goes on, I proceed to start the car with the key all the way and nothing. The a/c fan goes out and just nothing, not even a click from the starter. Next I grabbed a hammer and banged on it a couple times while my sister started it, still nothing.
I know the alternator is in good shape, the optima red top battery is brand new but dead because it has been sitting all winter. I'm thinking the starter is shot so I will go out and get that tested. Unless someone thinks otherwise? What the hell is up with this sudden a/c fan running when the key is to the on position?

Check power @ the starter, and check that the trigger wire see's battery voltage when someone turns the key to start. That one's pretty easy since it's just held on there with a spade connector. If that checks out fine, see if you can turn the engine over by hand to make sure nothing strange like that is going on.

Alright so today I cleaned up the grounds. I didn't do the ecu ground though because that requires taking off the intake mani and wasn't in the mood for that. I utalized the old bolts cause I couldn't find anyone that sold m6x1. Everything coated in dielectric grease. I also replaced the negative battery terminal because the old had yellow powder over it and some wires cut.
I brought the starter in and got it tested. It had a weak point but still worked. I have been suggested to get a new ignition switch. I plan to test the voltage at the ignition prong on the starter soon. Still no go on the car.
I forgot to mention that I did cross a power wire from my defi boost gauge to the ignition wire. That brings the wires connected to the ignition wire to 3, 1 power from the defi gauge, 1 ignition wire from the defi gauge, and 1 power wire from the plx wideband. Can this be too much load? I did disconnect the ground wires to the gauges and tried to start and still nothing.
