X-cessive Intake on FC??
X-cessive Intake on FC??
I was wondering something. I saw an X-cessive LIM on Pineapple Racings site. It says its for FD engines, but would it work on an FC? I didn't notice anything one the X-cessice that would be used to open the other intake ports and all four injectors are on the base of the intake.
I would like to have a really cool looking engine with non stock parts on it, but I dont know what works and what doesnt. And I cant find too much for really cool stuff other then at KGparts.com but I dont know what most of their stuff does or how it works. So...

Thats for turbo engines only, it won't work on an NA.
The only aftermarket intake for the FC is ITB's like this: http://www.tweakit.net/shop/product_...roducts_id=117
With everything needed to get that running (IDA manifold, standalone, etc) you are looking at probably $2500 or so. Its also pretty pointless unless you have a bridgeport or major streetport.

So basically, and not to sound like a completel moron even though I am with these engines, there is really nothing that I can do to my N/A motor to help get extra power and make it cooler looking? I mean the engine dress up and bay dress up only go so far for aesthetics.
I have heard of some mods for these engines, such as throttle body mods, but Im not too sure what they do or how they do it. I mean I hate to keep beating a dead horse here, but what are some ways of dressing up the motor itself and still getting more power without breaking the bank (which isnt a very big bank in my case, mind you)?

Well, short of opening the motor and rebuilding it with a port job, the main power adders are exhaust and intake. Most any exhaust that gets rid of the stock cats will give you some power gains, a full exhaust would be the best. For the intake, you can get a cone filter and make a cold air box for it and that will give you some power too. Other than that, there aren't really any cheap power adders.
Personally, I would concentrate on the suspension, but thats just me.

No.
That particular LIM for the FD is just to balance out the runners, since the stock LIM is not balanced.
You need to do more research and figure out what you want to do.
Stop thinking you need to slap on "cool" parts on your car.
That's going to cost you MORE money in the long run, which is a waste.
You need to start...
1) Figure what you want to do with your car - how much power you want?
What are you going to do with your car?
2) How much money are you willing to spend?
Start by answering those two questions, as we can help you out better.

Well I am eventually going to have a twin turbo motor built and put in, but when I do that swap I will keep this motor to put into something else so I would at least like to have a nice somewhat powerful motor.
If need be I can leave it stock and just dress the hell out of the stock parts and I think it would at least make the bay look better, but as far as power wise, I would like a little more from it. I am just not to sure what else to do to it. I mean it already had a cold air intake and a dual cat-back exhaust on it. But it retained the stock exhaust manifold. I had a full tune up done on it not long before the motor went and it still didnt seem to add much power.
I dont want to get flamed for this, but I know that with Hondas and such you can swap a few cheap parts out and add 30 or so horsepower to it, so I was just curious if you could do the same with this motor.

I know the whole "cool" parts thing is a real waste since most of the time those parts dont do anything other then add looks. But I do understand what your saying completely. I mean this is my first cool car and I really want to take advantage of that.
What I am wanting from this car is for it to be a daily driver with a little added horse power. I dont know the stock ratings, but maybe somewhere close to 175 hp or so, if thats not too out there. Nothing crazy, just a little added to it.
I am not too sure on what I am wanting to spend since I will eventually put a drag motor into this car. I know that I am going to spend around $1100 for the rebuild parts, a new radiator, new oil cooler, new trans cooler, and some new hoses and vac lines. I would like to keep it under $2000 since eventually this motor will be pulled and replaced.
Do you think ditching the stock exhaust mani would for something better maybe like a Pacesetter manifold, would be good? I mean its a relatively cheap change but could it yeild a little better power numbers with the mods that are already done to it?
I really appreciate yalls help here.

2 Don't mention the H word on this site. Every place you go you see the H-word so people (7 owners) esp don't want to see it here.
3 Not much else you can do unless you take the motor apart. Go ahead and upgrade to a header. Thats the most bang for your buck. You could also make a custom intake elbow for show and some more throttle response.
4 Try things such as a short shift kit or suspension. These won't help with more power but the driving experiance will improve. Also you will have these mods already in place for when you put in your twin turbo motor
Take that part off(its real easy). Now look through up at the sky. See how the air has a hump and bend to move around? You can grind it some or make a custom one Out of ?
Try searching custom intake elbow or use some key words. You will finda lot of info
