wth did I break?

Hey guys so I bought a t2 engine a whole ago that I'm going to swap. So I have it sitting in my garage and someone broke a part on it but I don't know what the parts called so I can buy a replacement. I would appreciate the help.

You can figure out a way of joining the two ends of the hose so it can deliver coolant to the thermovalve/thermowax unit which is the role of the metal pipe that is part of the BAC. The BAC itself should be fine.

^^^ that piece actually unscrews from the BAC. although a BAC in the classy-fieds is probably $5-10

I just bypassed that section of the coolant path, removed that little piece. Haven't noticed it missing. DD the car all winter here in the Northwest. Just ran a piece of hose from the nipple on the back of the front iron to the TB connection.

That really sucks, but yeah those are classic red flags in hindsight. New account, pushing you off-platform, mismatched payment name, all of it lines up with how these scams usually go. Don’t beat yourself up too much, they rely on urgency and catching people when they need a part fast.

Best thing now is to treat it as a lesson and tighten up future deals. Stick to protected payment methods, keep communication on-platform, and be cautious with anyone rushing the process. Most people only need to get burned once to spot it instantly next time.

As far as the broken part, for some reason, I can't open the picture to see it, but based on the context here, it's probably the little pipe that is screwed onto the BAC. Like satch said, its for temperature regulation for the throttle unit, including the thermowax and intake air temp sensor. I would wager that it was attached by metal at this point in the loop to also regulate the temperature of the BAC. That little coil is pretty active and this intersection with the coolant probably helps with the longevity of the BAC on top of keeping the hose from flopping around. I just had to change out the AC compressor coil on my wife's van because it sits so close to the exhaust manifold that it has a hard time dissipating the additional heat and baked itself. Whenever I get a chance, I'll try to see if there is a significant temp difference between having that coolant in contact with the BAC and without.
