WTF>?. ... SOmeone?
Can anyone tell me if an automatic rx7 comes with all the holes, mounts and engine compartments that a turbo rx7 would? Im switchin my engine and tranny out, but today me n my friend noticed that there was an area with a hole and a hold for the third pedal... there was a hole for mounting the turbo.... its weird.. do all rx7s contain these holes or does this mean that someone (stupid) converted my rx7 to automatic to let his wife drive it? Its just hard to believe that if this N/A automatic rx7 was a turbo mechanical then who the hell would be dumb enough to switch it?
Anyone know if it could be that my car was a manual before? (i want to know cause switching automatic to manual is harder unless it was already a manual originaly)

Ok, now, think realy hard... if the car came in both Auto and manual/ turbo and N/A, wouldnt it make the most sense to make things as interchangable as possible, so you dont have a gazillion different versions of the same part that dont fit the other model? Yes, all cars have the same holes, etc. Just not the same equipment.
Think of block off plates for buttons, if we go by your theory, then they would make a sparate dash for a model with 2 buttons less, wich is stupid. hope this helped... also, i think there is someone else already using that Avatar.

I also agree with what you said about the cars being the same for the most part. blockoff plates and such are used to cover up the holes if your car doesn't have all the extra features. and they are way cheaper than changing molds for different models. This isn't always true, its primarily used on the interior stuff, but there area fair amount of "holes" that are universal to FC's
Well that was the issue too when i looked at the car. its just confusing cause people say that switching automatic tranny to manual is incredibly hard due to "everything being different". So i thought since people were tellin me its hard to switch, then the body wouldnt have all the holes, cutouts and mounts for the manual. If the body is same all over then why do people complain about the swap? shouldnt it be pretty much plug in?
