"(not for diesel or turbo models)" "This auction is for a 2nd or 3rd Gen. Mazda RX7 Performance MOD"
Not for diesel or Turbo Models, but you can put in on a 3rd Gen? Lol....someone should tell them that is a little contradicting...heh

this was brought up about a month ago...basically you can find a write up to do it for no money at all...some thing about by passing some circuit...idk...but its useless, dont waste your money.

it just simulates the signal from your IAT sensor. I am pretty sure all that they do is replace the sensor with this resistor. The IAT sensor is a variable thermistor that changes resistnace with temperature.
Here is how to do this mod for yourself for a dime:
Using a digital multimeter, meausre the resistance across the two terminals of the IAT sensor at 40 degrees (remove the wires first). If you live in a warm area, take it out and put it in the fridge for a while, since most refrigerators are ~40 degrees.
Now, write down the resistance value you found, and go to radio shack. get a 1W resistor of this value. If you dont now how to find it, ask someone, ppl that work at radioshack usually know stuff like that.
replace the IAT in the manifold if you took it out. Leave the clip off, and put the two leads of the resistor between the two sides of the clip. if you dont want to cut any wires, just stick them in the clip and tape it up really well, but it is better if you cut the wires and solder the resistor in.
viola! 3 new HP. lol.
pat

How would this make power? Pig rich at normal intake temps and too much timing for your accual intake charge temps. Sounds like a blow your **** up mod! If you guy's buy this then I will rebuild your motors for $10,000.00 each.
Suckers!

Check mazdamark.com like the first guy said, Icemark's site... they sell the resistor you need with instructions for 2$.
I'm thinking of doing it, but not the same way... I'd probably rig it so that I could put it on/take it off easily. Don't want to drive around with it like that all the time.

As for the 3rd gen turbo, but doesn't work in a turbo thing, I thought the overseas FD3S'S had a N/A option.

You guys realize this IS a pretty good mod for an N/A car for 2$ right?
It's ******* TWO DOLLARS.
If you do it right it's a slight increase in power, that, if done right, you can use temporarily without any bad side effects... good for ... oh say... a one minute high performance run?
Noob mod nothing, it's a cheapass mod if anything... 'noobs' don't go soldering resistors into their temperature sensors.
EDIT: The shadetree switch to put the resistor in the circuit was what I was implying in my last post... I'll probably do that. But it depends on how sensitive the circuit is... adding leads, wires, and solder could potentially screw the resistance readings a little, permenantly.

I would go into a write up on how fuel burns and why your timing has to change under differant intake temps and why this is an upgrade for people who dont understand how the internal combustion engines work......but you wouldn't understand anyway.

^Who wouldn't understand? I started this thread because I thought the seller was a scam that didn't think anyone with half a brain and a 7 (which includes half of us clubbies) would be gullible enough to buy it. I don't plan on getting it. I never plan on getting it. I just thought it was one of those WTF? things that was worthy of being shared.
