Lightbulb WTF? IS THIS PROBLEM? kinda short.. lol

ok, since i got my car 2 yrs ago it starts and stays one, but after it warms up, the rpm's wont go over 2k or some times over 3k. if i try to drive the car i have to keep the rpms under 3 when i shift because if i don't the car jerks. The proplem is that the car after it warms up it jerks and i press the gas and it sounds very weird like a thump noise or like a very weid noise i can't relly say how. i just know the car lacks power and it won't go over 3k. if i try to go past 3 the car starts to jerk and the rpms just go up and down and makes the weird noise, all so the exhaust smells funny like a lawnmower, that kind of smell. no im not running premix yet. i have change the 02 sencer, gas filter, intake gaskets, gas pump, gas, im running cool blue on the car lol, it's a 88 n/a. all so i check the web site but i did not find any thing on this, i think the closet thing i found was about some dude talking about CAS what ever that is. they tell me i can check the codes in the 7 because i have the 88 but theres is not engine light, and i can't find the wire that ur suppost to ground in the left side by the coils. i know the engine is not the original from the car, i think it very low miles and i can honestly say that engine is strong no modes only mod is guted out cats stock pipes, i honestly pulled on a 88 t2, driven by my friend. but then my car got warmed up and i lost lol, it really feels like theres no power, i have change the ecu like 3 times. how do u look for the codes on the 88's?. ok i hope some one has gone true this...lol kinda of a bad thing to wish but i just want my car to work badly it's my DD. im kinda like a newb but not really. there is just alot of stuff i need to learn about the 7 but i know alot all ready. ok thanks for ur time, hope u don't strain ur brain lol. also hope u can read this lol. it's late and im tired i will check for this tread in page 5 by tomorrow cuz i know people are gona post like 10 treads HOW TO GET FLAMES FROM MY PIPES LOL. ok thanks for ur time, have a great day or night or have a great drive :-). ok latez

I would say look into you secondary injectors. It doesn't sound like they're coming on.

Or maybe the thermo sensor? Running way too rich cause it still thinks it's cold?

Hmm, good question.

Paragraphs do wonders for legibility btw.

When I said "thermo sensor" I meant the one in the back of the water pump. The one in the TB is an intake air temp sensor.

This is what I meant. It's green if you couldn't tell.

you have to make a code checker for an s4. Just do a search. Pull the codes and then start troubleshooting. You gotta help yourself. It could be alot of things but it sounds like your waterthermosensor is not plugged in or screwed up. Just look at the back of the wp. It's really easy to see.

The secondary injectors only come on when you are at 3800rpm or higher. Do a search for wayne88N/A's thread about troubleshooting the car through the ecu. All you have to do is check voltages and resistance. Pulling the codes will save you alot of headaches chasing imaginary problems though.

Hmm, what year is your car? S4s don't have a limp mode.

The two-light checker is a breeze to make. If it was S5 your CEL should be lighting up.

Not all codes make the CEL show up on the warning light cluster. Although s4s dont have limp mode if your waterthermo sensor is unplugged it might feel like limp mode.

This is REALLY unlikely, but it's always good to add... I've had a "going out" TPS for a while, and it finally gave, and came up with some similar problems to yours... I'm not sure how to explain but you should check it, it's easy to do with a DMM.
