Wtf is a megasquirt?

I've seen this term being thrown around here and there... What exactly is it? I searched but couldnt find any information of value is it a standalone system?

Thanks!

it's a cheap DIY standalone fuel management system. Cheap EFI.

I think you'd need to run a distributor or keep your stock ECU for spark management, though.

Search for "megasquirt" on google, you'll find tons of hits.

As far as I know, it is a DIY fuel control system. Doesn't do anything for ignition.

It is indeed a fuel injection computer that you build yourself. Very well suited to the rotary engine.

The ignition module is well underway, the only stopping point being me getting around to building and testing it. However I have a bit more time on my hands now so should get done over the summer. But first I have to get the engine back in my car after its rebuild.
