wtf is a fuel pump resistor relay

Pulled the codes... gave me a tps... readjusted it... car runs perfect... now i got another problem. When I adjust the bac idle screw, the idle does not change at all!

Second problem is, fuel pump resistor relay is now being pulled up as an error by the ecu!

AHHH!!!!

Weird - wouldn't think that would trigger a code.

The car would normally run with the fuel pump at a lower voltage during none WOT situations.&nbsp At WOT, it switched to full voltage to the fuel pump, via a resistor network.&nbsp The lower voltage to the fuel pump is less wear-n-tear to the fuel pump...

is the plug by the leading coil grounded?

Good call it was

Still starts up low though when warm. As in the idle is low, and slowly climbs up to 750.

Other than that, idle is rock solid.

If there's a problem with this system the ECU defaults to running the fuel pump at full voltage, which means it'll probably run rich at idle and light loads. Test the relay as per the instructions in the FSM.

Actually, I have a feeling that code was caused by the fact that the battery was low. I had to boost it a few seconds prior, and it only ran for about 2 minutes before being shut down, which required a second boost, and being ran for about 15 minutes on the hwy this time.

HOWEVER... i have two more issues now. looked at my exhaust tips, and they're brownish white!!! That means I'm running lean, isnt it? Because before the adjustment of the TPS they were black. Carbon-y, but black :S. Plus, my boost is not as high as it was yesterday by a LONG shot. it only goes up halfway from 0mmhg to 450mmhg, when it used to go up just shy of 400mmhg before all this crap.
Anyways, help! please!!
