WTF Coolant spewing :|
WTF Coolant spewing :|
I noticed some coolant seeping outta the bolt w/the coolant level sensor.
I open the rad cap, coolant goes spewing out.
I look at the overfill, empty (Last I can remember it was half full always)
When I fired her up today after 2 weeks of being untouched tons of coolant smoke poured outta the exhaust (took some pics) but it don't look bad at all, went away after a few mins, the cars always done this smoking on and off.
What would cause coolant to SHOOT outta the rad fill and nothing in the overfill.

No ****, Sherlock.
The system is pressurized when hot.
And you have a leak somewhere. It could be a pinhole in the radiator, and the hose between the rad and the overfill, or a failed coolant passage in the engine.
Are you sure it was coolant coming out of the exhaust and not condensation?

Yeah it always spews alil coolant smoke for a min, its like 70f outside.
I didn't warm it up, just moved the car back n forth a few times to get it more to the right of the car port. I was fixing my radio, the coolents COLD, I opened the rad cap maybe 30mins after turning it on for a few mins..
Since I changed the coolant few months ago the bolt on the top of the rad always has coolant on it, not dripping though.
The overfill was fully empty, I filled it to the full as it says and cleaned the overfill line/tube fired her up with the cap off, no bubbles or anything put the cap on and let it idle for a bit took it off again and it didn't spew everywhere.
heh I think I need a new radiator when I changed the coolant it was black and gunky and the stock temp gauge goes to the same spot as prior to changing the coolant, just takes longer to get there.
