WRX hoodscoop on FC

I think it would look a little off, just sitting there, but if it was molded in, with a slope in the rear, like the stock scoop tapers down to the rear that might be pretty nice.
and alot cheaper that a FMIC I would think

Yeah, I'm not tryin to slam your idea... If you have a spare hood, mock it up and take some pix... Maybe you'll need to do some mold-work to get a good flow to it, but it might actually work...
Obviously, alot of us are having trouble seeing how this scoop will fit with the lines of a rex, but if we see it in pix, who knows???
Remember, alot of other auto companies thought that Mazda was nuts for developing the rotary after they had given up on it, so you may be considered a visionary if you can pull this off!!!
Good luck, and post some photos when you get it mocked-up!

^^ I wasn't saying that a FMIC and this scoop are comparable.
What I was saying, is if you can't afford a FMIC, but you happen to have a bigger scoop laying around, and it is functional and would actually move more air over your TMIC, putting all concern of form aside and following function, it would actually help to cool the charge a little bit more than stock and would be cost effective, (effective cost, ZERO).
But because he has an NA car, it would be based entirerly on form with no reguard to function and would therefore be quite pointless in my book. That big *** scoop to do nothing but act like a parachute on the hood would be pure rice since it calls attention to the car, but actually could slow it down fractionally.
But feel free to do what you like with your own car.

Whitewidebody, sorry if I sounded like I was bashing you, I was just trying to point out how most people here would agree that our cars are built on a form follows function philosophy. And adding a nonfunctional scoop is bad form so to speak.
It doesn't look too bad IMO (if it where molded in very well), but I would not do it thats for sure.
