Would you guys use this on your FC ??? Please Let me Know
Today my friend said my car eats a lot of gas and makes a loudish noise, i agree with him.
He gave me a bottle of RISLONE: RING SEAL ...it says it supose to:
-Reduce oil burning
-Seals worn parts
-Quiets noisy engines
www.rislone.com
And he also told me to buy (which i alrady did) the Fuel Injection cleaner from Cheveron with Techron
Would you use these items on your FC ???
( I've searched and i heard that tha Fuel Injection thing is ok , but never heard of the other thing)

Keep Right Except to Pass
The fuel injector cleaner is OK, just don't expect a whole lot. The other stuff no way. Sounds like it's aimed at reciprocating engines. That kind of stuff is 99.999% snake oil anyhow. It's probably just a thickening agent of some sort. Thicker oil doesn't bypass as much, ergo burning less.
"eats a lot of gas and makes a loudish noise" yep, you've definitely got an RX-7. Those are both relative terms though. If you're getting close to 20mpg and the fuzz leave you alone, then don't worry about it.

Aditionally, before we get off topic from the question any more then we have, Rislone is for piston engines, specifically for cleaning out clogged hydrolic lifters. Being that our cars lack the necissairy equipment for lifters, we do not need or want this in our engines. Furthermore, unless you are running premix, all you will do is create all kinds of nasty deposits everywhere from this stuff burning in the engine. As somebody else already said, it is designed for piston engines in mind, so thats a no-go for the rotary in that case. Also, all it would do is MAYBE clean out the carbon deposits on the rotor.
Overall, I say don't use it.

Does your car happen to tell you to Shift Up even though you are in 5th gear? If so thats another reason you are losing your gas milage. I am pretty sure there is a small wire which is connected in the transmission which tells your ecu you are in 5th gear. So it starts using the 02 sensor and so it can lighten up on the mixture a bit becuase you are crusing...
Just another thought to look into.

I get 17 city mpg without the 02, and about 20 city with. On the highway its like 19 without, and 26-30 with.
But... I had an auto tranny to begin with, I was getting around 9mpg back then. After I installed the 5spd, and dropped emissions, and installed a new 02, I was bumped up to the low twenties.
Darndest thing keeps happening, the wire to the o2 sensor gets so hot, then cold, cycled repeatedly, that the moment you touch the wire, it just cracks apart.
