i was wondering if the theft deterrant system shuts off the ignition (cas ) to prevent the car from starting...my car wouldnt start since i got it , i bought it that way..but the reason was because of no spark..had a shop look at it and they said everything checks out fine but it just not getting any power....

im pretty sure its my wiring inside the car on the driver side, but i dont want to fix it to find out there is also a problem because of a theft detterant system or something like that

oh and the car turned over and got fuel, just no ignition, checked fuses underthe hood and found nothing

 

Does the tach jump during cranking?

If the starter is cranking, then it's not the alarm system preventing the start...

The only circuit the alarm interrupts is the starter (via the starter cut relay, just forward of the main relay)...

 

factory alarm only kills the starter... not the ignition or CAS or coils

 

from what i remember it looked like it moved a little bit, but not very much ..but then again it was a while ago and i dont remember 100% , it may have not moved at all... its all apart tho. Im working on fixing the problem, ill probably be replacing some harnesses cuz mine are fried which sucks but at least i have a parts car to get them from thats the same exact thing
