would no knock sensor cause ECU limp mode?

hey guys i havent connected my knock sensor wire yet and my car has a check engine light and seems to be a little low on power.

could not having my knock sensor wire hooked up cause my ecu to go into limp mode?

no, it only retards timing in the event of a knock. If it is not connected it is not hearing a knock

on an s5 it might retard the timing the 5 degrees if it thinks its unplugged. this is not limp home, in limp home the car will barely run

Trust me, when it's in limp mode, you won't get that car past 3k rpm.

If you had the PFC, would you need an aftermarket Knock sensor like the J&S? Or does the PFC already retard the timing?

I've read that the stock knock sensor is only on the front rotor, and that you could add an aftermarket knock sensor on the rear rotor as well. Can you upgrade or add knock sensors and have the PFC monitor them?
