would like some input

Hi, I have a stock TII, series 4. I was thinking of going to a muffler shop and have a custom 2.5 or 3 inch downpipe frabicated to completely replace the stock pre-cat, like a bolt on unit. I was hoping that this would free up some exhaust flow and safely increase a bit of power. I'm only looking for an extra 10 to 15 horse pwr at the most. What do you guys think of that?
Thanks

If it's an expensive task, I might go with the racing beat or srmotorsports for around $299.00 I think. I know I'm off, but it gives me some sort of an idea. And it comes with a presilencer or something like that.

it's deffinitly a good idea, the pre cat creates un needed heat and restricts stuff. I would probably just go with an after market peice though. be weary of fuel cut when you replace it though, you might start to hit it. do some research on it. it basically will feel like your car is stuttering at higher rpms at full throttle. if that happens you'll need a FCD. racing beat sells one.
