Question would this fit a 2nd gen?

I am thinking of towing my car and was wondering if anyone had any experience with this. How safe is it to use this and how will it fit? more info at the ebay page.

First of all an rx-7 with a hitch should be a bannable offense. That aside, no it is not safe. The brakes and the frame of the car was not designed to take that kind of strain. If you were to slam the brakes you could compromise the frame of your car.

I don't know anything about how well that will fit the car. I am curious though, what do you plan to tow?

u should jus tie some rope to the dyno tie-downs and pull it that way.

I don't think he's planning on using the RX-7 to tow something. Something else is going to be towing the RX-7.

He clearly said "I'm thinking of towing MY car..."

it might work if you removed the front bumper skin and
fiberglass under bumper then bolt it to what the under bumper is bolted to ..

Take it easy guys, clearly that is not a hitch, but would attatch to the 7 so he could put that on a hitch. About fitment, I dunno, it is adjustable though... why don't you try it and tell us the results

there is a big steel pipe right in front of the radiator and right behind the front bumper/air inlet. maybe you could go to fabrication shop that will install it so that the hitch can poke out from the front radiator inlet. i live in florida where everyone and thier geriatric brother has a car that they tow behind their motor home with some sort of get-up the stubs out in front of the grill. i see it on all different cars so my guess would be that each one is a custom job done by some shop in order to be minimaly intrusive to the esthetics of the car. also the ones i have seen use TWO points a foot or two apart that clip into special harnesses on the towing vehicle. i'd look for RV shop that has experience with setting up cars for towing.
