would it be alright?

would it be alright to wire the altenator cable straight to the postive side of the battery. cuz the battery wont charge while it is running.

ok, let us know what kinda car you have first.. secondly, yes it would be fine to do that. but first do some tests. get your altenator checked out, as well as your battery. the stock altenator only pushes out about 60-65 amps. VERY LOW, i recommend getting either a series 5 altenator.. or Silverrotor sells bolt in 3rd gen altenaters (110 amps)

i have a 1987 NA which i got for $1500 (still in good condition). anyway i got a new battery and new cables and the altenator checked out fine 14 volts. and i changed the starter solenoid. and the battery still wont charge.
