Is it worth the extra money to...

I have an 87 turbo II and I am not looking at extreme modifications, but I'm at the step where I am looking to re-wire my fuel pump and upgrade my fuel pump and looking to eventually run 2X550cc and 2X720cc injectors. One of my goals is to have a reliable car since I drive it everyday. So with that in mind is it worth the extra money to buy a more expensive fuel pump from RX7.com or something else or should I just buy a cheap walbro pump? I am a little concered getting a walbro, because of the threads I have read about them failing after little use. Any opinions would be helpful. Thanks in advance

Why not go with the FD pump? Cheap and available. As reliable as OEM (because it is ). Essentially, the RX-7.COM pump is just the stock Cosmo pump.

I am really looking at buying something that is new verses something used. Does anybody else have an opinion on where it is worth the extra money to get a fuel pump that is more expensive then a walbro?

Walbro's have always been reasonable....Why not go with fd pump? Many members on boards have these as well as cosmo pumps for sale wth little or no miles on them. Used is not always second best. I ran a cosmo pump in my tenth anny and never had any issues, I did upgrade the fuel system eventually with annular lines and an additional inline pump. But the most cost effective is the fd or cosmo and both are a direct swap.

I agree with mtnpass... unless you have some serious injectors a FD or Cosmo fuel pump will be plenty of flow...

Remember the FD pump was designed for 2x 550 and 2x 850 . So if you plan on running 2 x 550 and 2x 720. That pump shuld be fine.

Want new get a FD pump new ( hella expensive from dealer ) or the cosmo pump

That's what I was thinking, but it would be worth it for reliability wouldn't it?
