If everything checks out (good suspension, clutch, tranny, etc.) I think it's a fair price. Blue book is probably around $2500 for that car, but is has around $1800 in mods, looks clean, and has a recent rebuild (who rebuilt it?). RX7's usually sell above bluebook if in good condition.

Another thing to consider, if you can find a turbo II, you could get it for around that price and have some room for further mods if you have the $.

Is there a fix for the idle problem when its cold(besides putting a stock one back on), or is it just a necessary evil of the TB mod?

The engine was rebuilt by a place in Jacksonville called Japanese Engine Specialists. I have had a few problems with them, including the 6 months it took me to get my engine from them, and then it blew the o-ring on the front cover at 3K miles. But that has been fixed, and I havent had any other problems with it.

The clutch was replaced with the engine, the disk and pressure plate, and the flywheel was resurfaced. The tranny is fine, none of the gears grind.

All of the shocks/springs are in great, and the car has coilovers on it. There is NO wheel hop with this car.

If anybody has any questions for me, Ill be happy to answer, and please post anything negative here. I would rather know that it being said behind my back.

That is in my car. And I believe if you look closer at some of the interior pics on my site, you will see it there too.

From what Adam has told me about his car, and from the pics I've seen, it's very nice. If I had the money I would definitely go take a look at it.

I love that car, it's great! I'm going to miss it so much when he sells it. It's my baby. I suppose I'm going to just have to get used to his vert, even though I will probably cry when he sells it. It definitely is worth $4500 though. I know, I've seen it in action first hand.

I noticed that you guys live on the opposite sides of the country. I have some questions:

1) Are you going to put the emissions equipment back on the car and get it up to CA emissions standards before you sell it, or is poor Nate going to be stuck with an un-driveable, un-insurable, project car?

2) Is the buyer going to be able to check out the car without spending $500 on a plane ticket?

I also suggest checking on the Blue Book pricing before buying any car.

All 2Gen RX-7 coupes are usually the same insurance rate, regardless of turbo or non-turbo models. The 3Gen cars are much more expensive, and I would imagine that the 2Gen convertibles would be more expensive on some policies.

BTW, my 84 GS, 88 SE, and 88 TII were exactly the same insurance rate with 2 different insurance companies.

Well.....I don't know jack about the "mods" but I paid less than half that for my '87 TII with a NEW Mazda engine. Plus...you'd have to obtain, reinstall, and get working all the emissions equip. . If you live in CA you should be able to find something closer to where you live. Oh....I agree about a TII being something a new driver does not need.
