I am having the same problem. When cold, my 88 anniv turbo will crank right up, idle normal and run well. But, when I try and start her up when the engine is at operating temp, instant flooding, and then I pull the EGI fuse, crank.......and try to restart. I ussually can get it started after a few tries. I do smell gas when this happens, I have also installed the H fitting from Mazdatrix on the fuel line, but that has not improved the situation.
I did put a Walbro fuel pump in a year or so ago, could it be the pump has something to do with it?
I have the Rtek 1.5 ECU installed with factory 520's.
I have replaced plugs, plug wires, coolant temp sensor, and added heavy gauge ground strap from body to starter. My engine has 107K miles, so I very well could have a compression problem, but power is still plenty, and idle is good?

Anybody know of a good Rx7 shop in the St. Louis area?
I'd like to have someone take a look at it.

I am seriously depressed about this, and am running out of ideas.

Sounds like hot start issues to me.. they're oftena ttributed to leaky injectors, I'd send em out to be cleaned up.
