wont time?
well my buddy on the forum came over not to long ago to time my "almost" running car and we clamped the timing gun to the wire and nothing came from the gun, we tried each wire and nothing, we hooked it to his honda accord and the gun was woking fine. So we were both confused, please help.

Put the clamp on the wire *** backwards. IF the clamp is like most, it has an arrow on the clamp that points to the sparkplug. So this next time, have the arrow on the clamp pointing towards the coil assy instead.
It also helps to have the clamp close to the sparkplug rather than close to the coil assy.

Turn the clamp around!!
OH..just to let you know,That Using an Induction style timing gun:it is Finicky on Rx7's.You need to get the Clamp 'just SO' on the wire.Usually More towards the Plug than anything.Put the clamp about an inch or so away from the spark Plug wires Boot. on the plug(rubber part closest the engine.that attaches on to the spark Plug) It should read.
