Question Won't Start - 89 GTU

OK, I put in a new short block from Atkins rotary (great place BTW) for my friend. We roll the car out of the garage and it fires right up and drives great. He takes it out that night and it dies on him. I can't even get a sputter. I have spark, proper fuel pressure, and compression. All of the injectors register 13 Ohms resistance. I have taken apart the entire intake track, checked all of the vacuum lines and found no leaks. Please help, I have started to refer to it as the Demon car. Thanks in advance.

It turns over, right? It sounds like it flooded. A very common problem with rebuilds is they flood really easily until they are broken in. Rebuilds build compression for about the first 1000-1500 miles. Do the unflooding procedure, and then pour a few ounces of 2 stroke oil into the engine. Should fire right up, but it will smoke like a bitch.

Good luck.

Thanks for the reply. I have tried pouring oil in the cylinders several times with no success. If I jumper the fuel pump circuit (yellow connection by the passenger strut tower) I effectively bypass the ACV and TPS, right?

To the best of my knowledge any engine will run, maybe not well, but will run if it has compression, spark, fuel and air. Please let me know of any other suggestions you might think of.

Thanks.

It has a new exhaust system and Cat, but I will take it down to see if it is filled with fluid. Thanks.
