Exclamation Wont Shift after "spirited" driving....

like the name says, after i drive my car hard or even semi-hard and come to a stop, the car wont shift into gear, and this is the only time, when it's rolling it's fine, but stopped, wont shift into gear without excessive force....

i made a previous thread but i didnt want to revive it....

check to see if the 3 bolts are tight. Mind can loose right after I bought it and the bushing was damged (resulting in the same thing as you) due to the bolts coming loose. Also make sure you have it lubed properly. Any slop in the shifter before it locked up?

the three bolts that hold down the shifter assembley. you have to pull the boot out of the way to see them. they go into the top of the tranny and hold everything together. one other note, have you checked the tranny fluid level?

yeah I stole it from you.....but I gave you credit.........If I were you, I would take the three bolts out to access the shifter to inspect the bushings/ shifter ball, and go from there. That is probley the best/only way to fiqure it out.

it's not that hard....put the plastic trim straight up....pull the boot up so you can see the rubber piece that bolts to the floor. follow the shifter till in goes in to the tranny. there is a round piece on metal that holds the shifter in, it has three bolts holding it down. remove bolts and check it out.
should be easy....but your Canadian so who knows......

just kidding man....good luck!!!

ok hold on.....so it doesn't want to go into gear when running? but with the motor off it feels ok...If this is the case the clutch is not working correctly. if it is only when stopped I think it is a clutch isssue.

sounds like the clutch might be rubbing the presure plate....Try this....drive the **** out of it then jack up the rearend. now try to put it in gear using the clutch...if the rear wheels try to turn then there isnt enough freeplay for the clutch to fully engauge away from the flywheel, so when your stoped the clutch is still wanting to turn, making it hard to shift also make sure the slave cylinder is working right ie fully pushing the fork twards the back of the car and the fluid line from the master cycler is not in contact with anything hot.
