whats wrong!?!?!

ok so here's the story. I was putting in a chipped rtek 1.7 ecu, fuel pump and secondary injectors. I got everything except the injectors installed and was doing the injectors when I dropped a socket in the LIM. It went all the way to my motor and I had to take everything apart to get to the intake ports. I took off the intake stuff, LIM, exhaust mani and turbo. After getting the stuff out of my motor I put everything back together and cranked the motor over for about an hour before she started. The spark plugs were really wet and the motor was flooded, but that's all ok now cuz it runs. Well, kinda. When we first got it started it had a major fuel leak. but it idled ok! Now, after taking everything apart again and figuring out that the o ring on one of my secondary injector wasn't there it didn't leak anymore. But! now it won't idle. The car runs well and makes power but if you don't give it gas to keep the revs up it dies right when I start it. And when i try to hold it around 1k it runs really rough and barely runs anywhere lower than 1k. I've checked the vacuum lines and everything is connected correctly. I've tried to adjust my idle but it doesn't do ****. I've exhausted all of my ideas and my friends and I are pretty much baffled.

I would say it's an idle issue but it just doesn't run well under 1k, even when in gear it dies off around 1k and i have to give it a lot of gas to keep it running. Any ideas?????



btw, it's an s4 tII

 

Make sure the AFM is plugged in. Also, look again for air leaks causing un-metered air entering the engine.

 

check your plugs too. Mine would turn over rev up to 3000 and die. Took me about 7 trys before looking at the plugs, and they had become fouled. Try some freash plugs, they should fix your problem unless you're running extremely rich.

 

changed the plugs, still no dice. Anyone? The car runs fine over 1200rpm but around there and below it doesn't sound healthy and dies unless constant throttle is given.

i feel ya..try the tps that might be it, that or let it warm up to normal op. temp..
and try adjusting the idle screw on the tb, uhh..on second thought do you have a front mount? or the stock ic?

stock ic and when it's up to normal operating temps it revs too low and it instantly dies because of how badly it's running.

 

you can't fry an ecu or anything by keeping the battery plugged in when installing it can you?
