Won't run above 1500 rpm when hot

I finally got the car running after replacing the coolant hose to the thermowax, and everything seemed fine. Today, I started the car and drove down the road. When I got to a stoplight, it would idle fine but would not take gas, just sputtering and all at about 1500 rpm. Looked for vacuum leaks, etc, but could not find any and called the tow truck.

An hour later, as the car was coming off the truck, I started it up and it ran fine.

So, the question is, is there anything that is affected by heat which would cause this problem? It will sit in the driveway and idle and run fine seemingly forever.

Water thermosensor is a possibility (located behind water pump). And year of your car.

sounds more like one of the rats nest solenoid wires is shorting out, one of ACV ones is usually the culprit.
