Question Won't Run!!!

Okay. so here's all I've got done on my TII that I got after it sat in some guys yard for a long time. -new gas tank(old one rusted) -replace fuel filter -new oil cooler/lines -new spark plugs -battery

Today, I got it all together, put in the new oil cooler, new plugs, made sure we've got spark, it was good... Try to start it- nothing. It still just sits there and cranks!!! i don't have any new ideas for why it isnt running right now. HELP!

engine sounds flooded, make sure your spark plug wires are correct as they are easy to mix up, rusty gas tank doesn't sound good. I know you replaced it but I can't imagine what the rest of the car is like so pull codes from the computer as you may have messed with signals to the cpu by just having your hands all over. check your fuel pressure as well. rusty tank isn't good for a fuel pump. I know on my 90Rx7 I can turn the fuel pump on without starting the car by jumping a test wire in the engine bay. this is good to prime the fuel line. Hope I can help.

I have new fuel pump. just temporarlily i grabbed one off an NA at the junkyard... i'm getting a walbro sometime soon tho before i start driving it. hmm flooded engines sound like a pain in the ***... push starting works? and disconnecting the fuse... then what, you just crank it for a while w/o fuel and it gets it out of there or what?

my 91 RX7 floods and now we believe the APEX seals are now bad. we can smell the gas mixed in with the oil on the spark plugs. would it just be better if i buy a new engine with new seals or is there a way i can get the car to run without it going back to this state?

Redsuns, check out your own thread first. You need to do a compression check to make sure its bad before you talk about rebuilding it. If you do need to rebuild it, then theres no othe rway of fixing it. www.rotaryresurrection.com is a good place to get it done for cheap.

Sure. Have you given any thought WHY the car sat in his yard for long time????? No. Not the reason HE gave you. The REAL reason.

I'll bet there's no compression It DOES NOT take a compression gauge to figure that out.

Oh yeah well i definitely am not taking anything the guy said seriously, he's pretty sketchy i think. But just listen to this: he got a title loan 5 years ago for 300 dollars with 25% interest over 30 days and NEVER MADE A PAYMENT... In other words, the guys a real dumbass and is apparently not the wealthiest. I think the real reason he didn't get it going was oil cooler lines that needed replacing. He probably went to the dealer and they told him like it was going to be like $300. I dont know tho, I'm borrowing my brother's compression tester today, I'll get back on after i test it.

Bad news, HAILERS was right. Compression is terrible. 60 in the front. i dont understand why, but i couldnt even get a reading in the back rotor; is that possible or am i just doing something wrong? Shitty. So now a rebuild is my only option?
