Wont rev and runs like crap when tach works?
Okay I recently got my 88 Turbo II kind of running and noticed this strange issue.
Tach jumps when you are cranking it and stops working if and when you get the car started.
Revs smooth and free all the way up.
Now if you rev it up and quickly cycle the ignition off and on before it dies the tach will work!
And here it gets really interesting. Every time you get the tach to work the car starts running poorly and wont rev over 3-4k rpms. It doesn't die out... but almost does...
Wont run right until you shut it down and restart with the tach not working.
The problem is 100% repeatable.
Any ideas what this could be or what it means? and if it could be related to my starting issues, the car is hard to start cold and almost impossible to start hot...
-Thanks

Are the sparkplug wires crossed up from the trail coil ? Mabe even the lead and trail plugs on the wrong sparkplugs.
Trail number one goes to the top sparkplug on the front rotor housing.
The lead wires can go to any of the bottom sparkplugs, matters not which.
Trail sparkplug wire location does matter though.
