wiring for the temp sender?

wiring for the temp sender?

Temperature gauge was not reading, so i located the sender to find that there is no wire connected? and i can't see a spare wire in the area? should it come out of the harness? what colour is it?
does it go to the ecu, and does it have a function other than just displaying the temp on the gauge?

Page 50-40 of the free, online wiring diagrams shows the color and path of the wire to the water temperature sensor. See the FAQ thread on this forum for the url to the free download.

Yes, yellow/white, no and no.

Like Hailers said, download the FSM including the wiring diagrams and keep them for reference. For stuff like this refer to the FSM before posting. You'll get quicker (and often more reliable) answers.
