Wiring Summit's RPM Switch/FE6PS:
OK, I'm wiring for an electronic 6port system (FC3s.org). The guy I bought the car from took it out!

The instructions say:
a) WHITE wire is the input for the tach signal. I don't know where to wire????
b) GRAY wire normally provides a ground for a circuit and will open upon reaching the selected RPM limit. Again, I don't know where to wire????
Also, can I run an LED off of either the BLACK (ground wire) or the YELLOW wire? In addition, I can't find an LED suitable for 12volts anywhere.
c) Lastly, the ACV unit is gone but the original vacuum rack is in place. So I have three vacuum lines not being used: One that went to the ACV; Another that went to ACV (dashpot looking thing); and another the went to the intake manifold (I think). So, I want a working 5/6port system and VDI unit when I finish. How do I hook up these vacuum lines with respect to the Air Ride Compressor? I mean if I just run lines straight to the 5/6 ports the VDI won't work. Right? I'm confused. HELP YOUR LOCAL NEOPHYTE.

what are you using for a air pump? The air ride compressor??? then you will need a relay as the summit switch is limited to a 2 amp output.
for your "A" you can find that in the shop manual, but your best bet is to use the yellow/blue tach wire at the back of the gauge cluster, or power steering computer.
"B" The gray is normally not used, but you didn't say how the pump is wired.
If you wanted an LED wired in, you can use either a 12 volt LED or normal 2 volt LED with a 4.7K ohm 1/4 watt resistor. The LED would wire between the Red wire and the yellow wire (LED (+) to the Red, LED (-) to the yellow). This would light the LED everytime the summit switches RPM target was hit.
"C", requires a 2nd RPM switch or replumbing of the factory vac valves if you want to the VDI to work independently of the aux ports activation.
Normally you could just use the air from the factory air pump to activate the aux ports and then switch a re-plumbed vac valve with the summit RPM switch for the VDI.
Remember the FC3S.Org thing was for a S4, not a S5.
The other options would be to use the factory vac valves and ECU for operation. Then you would just plumb in the air ride compressor for the feed to the factory valves with the summit switch actvating the air pump (through a relay) when ever the car gets to 3500 RPM (but whats the point of that, the factory air pump did the same thing without the summit switch or any of the extra complexity).
