Wiring radio

I'm trying to put a radio in my s4 and it's a huge headache. First off, the interior in my car is pretty stripped so I'm just running the speaker wire on the radio straight to a speaker thats not even put in yet, just to get it working, then I'll mount it. Also the harness in my car has been cut.

I wired the constant power and 12v power wires on the radio to the fat blue wire with a white stripe(only one getting power) and the radio turns on fine. I have it grounded to the 10mm bolt the FAQ says to.

The problem is the speakers. The radio has wires for 4 speakers but I'm only putting 2 in. I wire the speakers to the front speakers wires and nothing. However if I touch the negative or positive from one of the back speaker wires to one of the speakers they work fine. But when I shut the radio off and turn it back on just the clock comes on the radio and when I hit source to turn the radio on it shuts off. When I disconect the back speaker wire it turns on, then I put the wire back on and the speakers work. WTF?!?!

I've tried looping the back speaker wire together and then tried wiring the back speaker wires together with the front and nothing works. I don't know what else to do, I had like 3 people that are good with radios look at it and no one can figure it out. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Adapters for what? The speakers? The harness? I have the adapters for the speakers, and my car has no harness.

if your looking for the adapters to plug into your harness then you just match the colors of the wire hsrness to the stereo? yes they do make them. check crutchfield or local car auio places may have them
