Wiring Harness Frustration
Okay, before we start the flaming, I've looked all throughout the forum to no avail. I'm doing a S4 13B TII swap into my 87 GXL. I'm modifying and using the original N/A wiring harness and I have no idea where it routes. If anyone can help me figure out where the hell this harness routes around the engine from the passenger side firewall (FSM didn't help), you would be my hero. It's the last thing I have left to complete this swap and I'm at my wit's end.

The ENGINE chapter of the FSM is as close as it gets. Not very close. Someone in the last two years answered that queation. I've no idea who. The jpg attached is out of the ENGINE chapter of the FSM.

it goes from the firewall to the front side of the motor between the intake manifold and the alternator where the the connectors for the bac and thermo sensor are. there is a long section that has your connectors for the boost sensor, variable resistor, and the maf that goes alon the right side of the engine bay. back to the main part of the harness, it goes after the alternator wraps around where all the vacuum solenoids are and strings out like fingers to the injectors. i hope you already extended your bac connector and your tps connector becous both are on other sides now.

I think this is what you're looking for. I had the same issue a couple of months ago (on an S5 but i bet its the same).

If you need pictures, I'm happy to shoot and post em for you. But the big "ah-ha" for me was that the harness goes up and over the thermostat neck and then over to the passenger side strut tower. I was trying to squeeze it behind the air pump and then between the air pipe that goes from the turbo to the TMIC's intake elbow. but there just isnt enough room there.

This does help a bit. Thanks. My copy of the FSM is a horrible quality scan.

Pictures would always be a help. I'll use the info I have so far and take another look tomorrow when I have time. Thanks for the help
