Exclamation wiring harness danger

I got a used motor i just put in running pretty good. The wiring harness is pretty brittle...and some of the connectors are cut. Like my intake temperature sensor that plugs onto the manifold (dynamic chamber) on the drivers side (think having that unplugged will hurt anything?). My question is...I have another wiring harness in good condition...should I take the time now while i have all my intake manifolds off to swap it...the motor is in the car....will it be to hard? Im worried about electrical fires, etc. There are no opens in the wiring as i can see...it just looks kinda old...and that one cut connector...

1986 n/a

I'm still trying to sort a gremlin out and it never escapes my mind that it COULD be the wiring harness. Give yourself the peace of mind by changing it now. It will be worth your time.

My wiring harness got too old and the car keep having problems. Switching it requires pulling off the intake so do it while you have it off. Other than that it isn't that hard to do.

I had to pull the intake off. I started on it one evening late probably after 7pm maybe 8pm had it finished by around midnight. Seems Most of my time was spent fighting the intake. There aren't that many wires to chase. Fishing them through the firewall to the ECU was 2nd hardes part.
