If you just want to determine whether your issue is spark or fuel, you can...
1. Spray starter fluid into the intake and try to start. If the engine fires momentarily, you have a fuel issue. If it doesn't fire, you've probably got an ignition problem.
2. Or, pull one of your leading plug wires off the plug and ground it against the motor. Try to start your car and see if it sparks. If so, you obviously have spark. (I think it's best to leave a loose spark plug in the wire, check the plug for spark, but it's harder to see the spark that way).
