Question Wire tape, what type, best to use.

Replaced alternater and noticed tape that covered the bundle of wires was deterioraing. At the same time I discovered the PD (seriously scary) was bad. Probably the culprit for wiring tape to fall a part. PD and wire bundle are about an inch from each other. Can we say it's much like a lighted match next to a mist of gas on top of a hot stove. Damn. Anyway, enough rambling, what is good tape (or whatever other material) to wrap the wires with?

I bought the best quality 3M plastic electrical tape I could find at HomeDepot. I retaped injector, solenoid, and parts of the wire bundle a few weeks ago. Holding up so far.

I re did my whole wiring harness with 3M class H tape. It has glass inbedded in the tape and is good up to 356Deg. F. Its about $13 a 60 Ft. roll but I got the whole harness done with one roll. Well worth the piece of mind for $13. I can check the # on it when I get home tonight if you want me to.
