there are a few differnt places that will resolder the switch for you (fc3s.org) or if you look around you can find some write ups on how to do it your self. but yeah the wiper switches seem to always go bad in our cars

I have/had a simialr problem. When I was driving my mom to the tire place so she could pick her car up, it started raining, so I turn on the wipers, no problem. By the time I get there the rain has stopped, so I go to turn off my wipers and suddenly they won't turn off anymore. So in a half panic I pop the hood and unplug the power to the wipers. That at least stops the problem. Unfortunatly Im not good at soldering so I opted to go to a junkyard and pull one. Well it works fine for about 2 weeks and now it won't let me use the int dial to alter the speed of the wipers. sigh oh well you can't win 'em all I guess. When I not so cheap I guess Ill buy i new aftermarket one. BTW for an 88 SE the wiper swith is $340!!!! Mazda is too damn expensive
