wiper switch, not the normal issue (searched)

My wiper switch is failing somewhere. It doesn't work in any speeds, but it mists if i push the button down. I just replaced the relay and can hear it clicking so i know that is working. I know it is not the motor or anything, cause i got it jimmy rigged right now and it works (through a different switch, just one speed). I've heard something that it could be transistors, but i don't know how to get to them or fix them. Any help would be appreciated.

You can replace the switch itself on the instrument panel, This is a common problem with fc's. Switches do not last forever. Alot of the time you may lose one setting or all of them at once, it varies. Often a switch replacement will cure issues.

You can take it apart if you desire and go over the contacts, used switches can be found for less than 30 dollars all day long.....If yoyu disassemble it make sure that you do not shatter or crack the casing when pulling apart.

when it mists do the wipers go back and forth? if not, make sure it isn't... like... the nuts that hold the wipers to the bolt coming out of the motor isn't loose or somethin...

The wipers don't move when i mist, but it looks like there are two mist functions on the switch. The one that works on mine is when you press the intermittent button in towards the gauges, i get fluid. When i move the main part of the switch to the mist position i just hear the relay i replaced click. yeah... i wish it was the nuts the hold the wipers to motor, but they move just fine if i jimmy rig the circuit.
