Winter weather car work

I was wondering how many people work on their second gens in the winter. Im not talking like little crap im talking like my car blowed ups and something needs to be rebuilt, ill do it now and freeze my *** of instead of hey ill just wait till its warm out. O BTW its cold as **** over here and I got an 80k BTU propane heater blasting my garage, only way not to freeze to death while under the car, I will probally die of asphexiation though...

On Monday with its high of 20 degrees, I was out in the garage removing the turbocharger and manifold from my engine. The only things keeping me warm was a shitty heater that I bought at Home Depot, Mechanix gloves and a sweater under my coveralls. I couldn't feel my hands after 10 minutes and my feet went soon after that.

I can't wait til Sunday. Not only will I be off work, but it's supposed to be 55 degrees. Woohoo!

Yeah, 2 weekends ago Jan 17-20th I swaped a fresh engine and transmission into my 88 vert. It took my about 35 hours of labor doing everything by myself. I pulled one 16 hour day.... that was some fun. It was my first full swap so the second one should be much quicker.

As of now my other fc, a 1991 coupe, is up on jackstands getting its new heart.

The winter is the time I like to work on my car. When the roads are clear I would rather be driving it. 2 winters ago I pulled the trans and rebuilt it. Have to admit after I had the trans out I took it to the basement to rebuid.

This year I want to pull the intake an clean/polish and I'll probably replace the rear half shafts. I am also contemplating messing with the A/C. It seems really wrong to worry about in the winter. I think I'll wait until the temp gets above 20 to play in the garage though. (I don't have a heater).

I agree, cold sucks, especially if you dont have a heated garage, its not that cold where i live-pacific northwest near seattle- but i dont have a garage big enough jack up my car in and still close the door-so its basicall outside- the thing that make it EVIL for me to work on the car- is that it's ALWAYS soaking wet outside- and i have to do 90% of the work on my car outside the garage- IT SUCKS SOOOO MUCH i'd take COLD over WET anyday!

I work on my 2nd gen all the time in the winter, and all I have is a garage slightly larger then the car and an 1800W electric radiator for heat. You're a wuss.
