Lightbulb winter ambitions...

hi all, i just wanted to hopefully get some feedback on my winter ambitions. i got a garge this year so that i can get my car off the road for the hellish season, and so that i can do some mods on my car, and work out some of its problems. i currently have a custom pvc made CAI, and a set of racing seats, and a pair of fart cans, due to my factory mufflers s**tting the bed. i want to set my 91 black NA coupe up to be a decent drift car. i plan on doing a roadrace rb header, and a straight throught custom dual exhaust. maybe an LSD, but not quite sure. i am a HS senior, making about $150 a week working after school, so i am sorta limited on funds. i painted my stock 5 spokes flat black, for a stealthy look, and i like it alot. i have a front strut tower brace as well. does anyone have some comments about anything that i should do on my budget that will really benifit me?

Clean clean clean and shine...a clean shiny engine bay will make you go faster (well make you fell better)

Send your injectors out to be cleaned and blueprinted

Replace any bad vac hoses and water hoses for piece of mind

Tear into brakes and wheels and replace clean paint as necessary

New plugs and wires (NGK all the way)

GO through interior under carpets etc. and look for rust and leaks.

Anyhow just given you some garage storage winter basics that will keep you busy without spending all your money

While you have the time and space - make sure the car is perfectly in tune before you start modding. Any mod you do to an out of tune car will just frustrate you to no end.

Clean and inspect everything.

* Bleed the brakes.
* Do a Coolant Flush.
* Change the trans and diff oil.
* Change the plugs.
* Change the fuel filter.
* Inspect / change your Plug wires.
* Tires?
* Are the shocks still good?
* How about the Bushings? A poly master kit is about $100.
* Ball joints and tie rod ends - as well as end links - any of those need replacing?
* Brake pads and rotors?

Nothing there is very expensive to do - but it is necessary.
Once the car has everything on it fixed and everything is working properly, then you can look at modding the car.

ya, i also plan on doing rotors with slotted drilled, and taking the calipers all apart and cleaning them, and replacing them completly. the shocks are shot, i want to do new shocks and springs, and maybe a little lower stance. the car is from va, it is clean rust wise. and also i have done the ngk wires, i need to do plugs, and an oil change, any prefrences on that. can i get any power from certain oil change products? i also am replacing the fuel pump filter, as to where mine is clogged up, and giving me some headaches. is all for now, lemmi know any other things anyone recommends! thanks
