windshield wipers?

so i dont know if it is just me but my windshield wipers only work on one speed and that is fast. got online to see how much the new one is and almost crapped my pants...oh and i have a vert. while sitting on the throne and going through a jcwhittney i believe, there was a product like on the new cars that when it starts to rain it turns on the wipers automatically. it wires directly to the motor bypassing the switch. good idea? its like 30 bucks....

ok, if you look on ebay search "bmw rain sensor" and theres only 1 of them it's a little black box with 4 wires coming out of it, the way it works is, it sends out an IR signal which hits the windshield at 45degrees, it measures light defraction and when waters on the windshield it refelects differently.

i like the idea
